Family Office Education On The Rise
Much-needed education, and good business for institutions.

Estimated at $50 billion, executive education is big business. And universities and institutions are slowly waking up to the opportunities around Family Office education.
The need is clear: there are an estimated 8,000+ single family offices globally, and Deloitte expects that number to grow by 75% over the next five years. With most of these offices still relatively young—on average around a decade old—this rapid expansion is putting pressure on recruitment and talent development.
It’s an industry that needs to attract talent from banks, VC, PE, accounting, law, operations, administration and more.
To fill the increasing number of roles over the next few years will require significant upskilling of existing executives plus focused education of young professionals
In addition, ultra-high-net-worth family members themselves want to learn and share best practices on how modern family offices should operate.
Education institutions have started to step up.
From full undergraduate degrees to online certificates, entities from Ivy League universities to dedicated regional wealth institutes now offer family office programs.
Oxford University’s Said Business School even has dedicated family office student club, with the aim “to build a lifelong network of like-minded individuals from family business, family office and investing backgrounds.”
There’s a growing choice for family members and family office executives, as well as those looking to move into the industry.
And with fees averaging $12,000 for a week-long course, these programs are good business for institutions.
Here are fourteen family office education programs currently available around the world, from part-time executive courses to complete undergraduate degrees.

📚 what to read
I gave up on two books this week… not worth finishing and definitely not worth recommending. So hit me with your recommendations.
But here’s a book I read a few years ago that came up in conversation recently. McMafia by Misha Glenny is a deep dive into the world of organized crime. From international money laundering operations to arms dealing, drug smuggling and cyber crime. Particularly interesting is the section on Nigerian “419” scams and the surprising logic behind crude email fraud.

📻 what to listen to
Improving Alpha: Innovation in Investing, ESG and Technology with Columbia professor and investor Michael Oliver Weinberg. In this episode, Michael interviews Jose Eduardo Siman, one of El Salvador's most influential business families on Succession Planning Challenges and Innovating the Family Office.

📺 what to watch
A fiery debate: is 2025 the worst economic crisis in 96 years? Gary Stevenson argues that taxing the wealthy is the answer to the shrinking middle class. Daniel Priestley argues that greater economic freedom is the solution.
